Nursery contributed plant descriptions

An evergreen shrub with red new foliage that emerges that matures to green in color. Small round, pink bell shaped flowers ornate its presence.
Evergreen leaves continually flush wine-red new foliage throughout the season, and with age become a dark, glossy green. Racemes of rose-pink, bell-shaped flowers emerge in early spring. The buds form a beautiful lilac in winter extending their interest. Wonderful for container accents, mass plantings, borders and hedges.
Compact, upright growing Japanese Andromeda 3-4’ tall, with full clusters of white bell flowers late winter to early spring followed by a flush of deep burgundy wine foliage which is repeated through summer as new evergreen foliage emerges. Red color intensifies again in fall. Prefers acidic, moist, rich, well-drained soil in part shade.
We have seen this plant for years with long white flowers in February-April. The reason we finally started growing P.'Katsura' is for the deep glossy purple new growth. The purple growth continues to appear through out the summer.
A compact broadleaf evergreen with brilliant wine colored new foliage, and winter color. Deep red buds form in autumn for early spring bloom of pink flowers .Shipping qt pots.
One of the earliest shrubs to bloom in spring (some might say late winter) with hanging clusters of bell-like white flowers. Then comes a second show of gorgeous burgundy-red new growth, IMHO a much easier color to work with in the landscape than the scarlet new growth of 'Mountain Fire'. New growth gradually changes to green. I classify Pieris as a "little girl with a curl plant: when she was good, she was very good; when she was bad, she was horrid." So please plant in the shade with good drainage and you will be rewarded.
