Though in production for many years it is still often requested. Few pieris can beat the intense fiery-red new growth following the numerous white flowering panicles. A winner by all accounts. Larger shrub reaching 6-8 feet over time. Grow in shade to full sun in evenly moist, well drained acidic soils. USDA Zone: 5-8

Probably the most widely grown of all the pieris cultivars. The reason is the flaming red new growth, which is abundant in spring, with a less dramatic but no less welcome flush in late summer. White flowers in early spring. AGM winner.
