Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Daphne 'Perfume Princess' is an amazing hybrid with an extremely long bloom period from mid winter to late spring with an intensely sweet, citrusy fragrance from masses of extra-large flowers clustered at the stem tips or produced all along the stems. It is a cross of January blooming D. bholua with its sweet and intense baby powder fragrance and February-March blooming D. odora with its incredible sweet and tropical fragrance. In habit and foliage it most resembles to D. odora growing 3 feet tall and wide. Plant in part sun/part shade with morning or late afternoon sun (protect it from the hottest sun of the day) in rich, well-drained soil.

We have a good supply this year. A hybrid of D. bhoula and D. odora. This lovely evergreen has lush green leaves (no variegation) and has very fragrant pink purple flowers in February-March.

By: Gossler Farms

New award winning hybrid of Winter Daphne shows off vigor with masses of large, fragrant, light pink flowers from January (earliest!) to March. Flowers from the branch tips all the way down the stem, reputedly easier to grow than sensitive Daphne odora. Evergreen shrub 4.5’ high and wide, green semi-gloss foliage, neat and tidy all year. Prefers rich, well-drained soil, morning sun, regular water. Better in high temp extremes, drought, humidity and waterlogging than D. odora.
