Deep purple-black foliage sets this variety apart. Lightly scented purple flowers in late spring. Give full sun for best foliage colour. Daphne laureola x Daphne mezereum. Semi-evergreen. Zone 6-9.
Very choice hybrid between Daphne laureola and and D. mezereum which stands apart on the basis of its purple-black foliage. The small purple-maroon flowers which are lightly scented are hardly needed as the foliage carries the day. Fairly narrow upright growth. Sun is good.
One of our most popular plants, this garden hybrid of D. laureola and D. mezereum is grown both for its gorgeous, semi-evergreen, red-purple leaves as well as its huge clusters of dark lilac, fragrant, spring flowers. Reaches 4 ft tall in full to part sun with good drainage and normal summer water. Cold hardy in USDA zone 6.
SO unique and SO wonderful, the DEEP purple foliage of this 2-3'shrub make a season-long show in a sunny spot, matched in spring with rose-mauve lightly scented flowers; D.laureola x D.mezereum. Sun/Med/not dry
This fairly recent introduction has deep purple leaves year round. The small mounding shrub will get 18-24" tall and will have reddish pink flowers in the spring with a pleasing scent. Although amazingly rare, we have a good supply this year.
