Exquisite, old-fashioned Carnations are making a big comeback & ‘Bliss’ is one of the prettiest! Large (to 4” across), frilly-edged, creamy blooms are lightly scented & gorgeously ornamented with rosy apricot streaks. So pretty you’ll want to eat them, which you can totally do - Carnations are edible! “Re-incarnated” by John Barrington of Tauton, England - a passionate breeder of old-fashioned carnations – he’s dedicated to bringing back the romance in “ladies’ bouquets”. Tall & sturdy (to 30” tall & 30” across) with arching stems, these long-lived perennials bloom almost year around in mild climates (like ours in the Bay Area) with the biggest flush in Spring & Summer. Appearing in multiples atop long, blue-green stems, ‘Bliss’ provides plenty of romantic, long-lasting cut flowers. Cutting creates more blooms over a longer time - a great to reason to give some away! Best grown at the edge of a bed, or in a large container Provide rich, well-drained soil & side dress with compost once or twice a year for maximum bloom. Cut back to 6” tall anytime to refresh.
