Rabbiteye Blueberry is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring white flowers emerge followed by blue fruit. Attracts bees and birds making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, rich and well-drained soil.
Native to the southeastern United States and easily grown as a backyard crop. Berries ripen in early summer. Rabbiteye blueberries benefit from cross pollination, at least three varieties should be included when planting. Rabbiteye Blueberry prefers to be watered often and will produce the most berries in a sunny location. For ornamental value, Rabbiteye Blueberry has attractive fall color and exfoliating bark.
