Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A perennial grass-like plant with green and silver variegation. It has pale purple flowers that later put off green-white berries. A nice evergreen foliage plant great for edging or as a ground cover.
Taller than 'Silver Midget' with narrower, grassy leaves, this beautiful "Lily Turf" gives a very light effect, as the bright white variegation stripes the leaves freely, occasionally producing an all-white blade. PSh/M
(Silver Dragon Lily Grass) Silvery striped leaves arch delicately forming hummocky, 6-8” mounds, slowly spreading to form a ground cover in shade to part sun – not fussy about soil – avg garden conditions – small lavender flowers – USDA Z4
Zn 5. Purple flowers. Green & White foliage.
Stupendous white variegation, this came to us as an Ophiopogon however it flowered this year and is clearly a liriope, still a knockout in combination with the black Ophiopogon, it seems to be a strong grower however its hardiness has yet to be tested by a hard winter here. ZONE 6
Compact form to 8" tall, with narrow silvery-white striped foliage and pale-purple flowers. This oft-used cultivar forms a broad, dense carpet and seems resistant to leaf spot diseases that sometimes afflict other Liriopes. Spreads pleasantly by rhizomes.
This is a new spreading grass with silvery-white edges against blue-green center. Growth is slower than regular Liriope spicata. Superb! 12"x18"

Green and white, very narrow foliage. Very happy growing in a fair amount of shade.

This silvery striped, grassy groundcover is as tough as a dragon ... well, maybe not quite that tough, but it works well even in dry shade. Flowers are pale lilac on short spikes in summer followed by black berries in fall. Spreads by underground rhizomes forming a mat over time to approximately 12” high and wide in part sun to sun. Tolerates some summer drought and accepts summer water. Evergreen in USDA zone 7 and frost hardy in zone 4.
This group gets its name from greek, leiron, which means lily or in gree mythology, after liriope, a fountain nymph & mother of narcissus. These plants as a group are very adaptable to a wide range of exposures, soil conditions, and climates. They can tolerate excess moisture or severe drought and many adverse situations where nothing else would survive. Considering these attributes along with their diversity of textures, growth habits, colors, and extremely low maintenance requirements, there is little wonder that liriope is one of the most popular groundcovers on the planet. Native to Japan, China.
