A variegated liriope that is grass-like with small purple flowers much like a grape hyacinth. Black berries follow after blooming in the early winter months. An ornamental perennial that grows in clumps and makes a great companion plant.
Variegated Liriope forms clumps of arching grass-like foliage with bright yellow stripes against darker green. This makes for one of the best border plants around. Lilac flower spikes appear toward fall, followed by clusters of dark purple berries. The foliage of variegated liriope stays attractive long into winter.
This lilyturf cultivar is a tufted, grass-like perennial offering a clump of strap-like, arching, medium green leaves (to 1" wide) which are variegated with creamy yellow margins. Clumps slowly expand by short stolons but are not invasive. Short spikes of tightly packed lilac-purple flower rise just above the leaves in late summer which are followed by blackish berries.
Liriope muscari 'Variegata' has long green and white variegated foliage on a 8-10" mounding plant..likes sun to part shade..lavender purple flower spikes in late summer.
Silver edged leaves and purple flowers make this an extremely useful plant. Takes full sun or can brighten a shady spot.

The soft arching to upright foliage is broadly edged in creamy white on this durable evergreen grass-like clump-forming perennial. Summer brings 8" spikes of tiny lavender flowers that contrast nicely with the variegated foliage. Plant singly or in mass to brighten any portion of the garden or use it as a spiller or filler in mixed containers. Keep your Variegated Liriope in top form by pruning away all of last years foliage in late winter and fertilize at this time with a slow release balanced fertilizer.
This group gets its name from Greek, leirion, which means lily or in Greek mythology, after liriope, a fountain nymph and mother of Narcissus. These plants as a group are very adaptable to a wide range of exposures, soil conditions, and climates. They can tolerate excess moisture or severe drought and many adverse situations where nothing else would survive. Considering these attributes along with their diversity of textures, growth habits, colors, and extremely low maintenance requirements, there is little wonder that liriope is one of the most popular groundcovers on the planet. Native to Japan, China.
