Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Liriope muscari ‘Royal Purple’ is an evergreen groundcover that spreads slowly by creeping rhizomes. Spikes of purple flowers bloom above a clumping tuft of grass-like foliage. Ornamental Grasses are low maintenance and grow well in most soil types. They look beautiful, adding color, height, and movement to your garden. Dwarf Lilyturf is an excellent companion plant with contrasting foliage.
This group gets its name from greek, leiron, which means lily or in gree mythology, after liriope, a fountain nymph & mother of narcissus. These plants as a group are very adaptable to a wide range of exposures, soil conditions, and climates. They can tolerate excess moisture or severe drought and many adverse situations where nothing else would survive. Considering these attributes along with their diversity of textures, growth habits, colors, and extremely low maintenance requirements, there is little wonder that liriope is one of the most popular groundcovers on the planet. Native to Japan, China.
