Bletilla striata ‘Tri-Lips’ features clumps of small, three-lipped flowers with intense purple and pink tones and ruffled, white throats. The blooms are carried on tall stalks above broadly ribbed, iris-like leaves. Japanese ground orchids are hardy and very easy to grow.
This rare tri-lipped form has ruffled, magenta flowers with contrasting white inside the lips providing effective colour contrast. Vigorous and easy to grow like the species. The leaves are arching, broad and grass-like. This easy terrestrial orchid is native to China and Japan. Best in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil.
