A beautiful Chinese Ground Orchid, a little taller than B. striata and not quite as hardy...18-24” stems over pleated leaves topped with pale yellow orchids with deep golden yellow “beards” heavily spotted with burgundy...even a single stem in a vase is dramatic! This rare species of terrestrial orchid from Japan produces elegant, cattleya-like, yellow flowers with red markings on the white lip. The flowers are held in groups of three to seven on stems rising to 12 inches. The leaves are arching, broad and grass-like. Best in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil.
