Considered to be the best of the low-chill southern high bush blueberries introduced by the University of Florida. The first to fruit and producing good yields of medium-blue, firm berries with excellent flavor. The plant has a somewhat spreading growth habit. Cross pollinate with other southern high bush blueberries such as 'Southern Belle'.
One of the main advantages of Springwide are its very low chill requirements, excellent flushing early in the spring, and early ripening. Berry size for Springwide is large, excellent scar, firmness, and flavor. Berry color is medium, about like Sharpblue and Windsor. You will need 2-3 different kinds for cross-pollination.
