Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A fast-growing and hardy perennial vine, "Hops" have light golden, cone-shaped flowers used for making beer. The beautiful vine grows up to 25' in a single season and dies-back to the crown each fall. The vines and fragrant flowers make a sensational statement in any landscape whether you use the hops to make beer or not. Grow on a fence, wall or trellis for support. Our hop plants are strictly females since only the females produce flowers. Hop flowers begin to ripen mid-August to mid-Sept. 'Willamette' is an aromatic hop also used for flavoring. It's one of the best hops for pale ales, brown ales or UK style ales. Also used in teas for insomnia.
This German Hallertauer hybrid has high (11-17%) alpha, high yield potential and great storage stability; for making your own beer or a fast cover for gazebo or arbor, hops work great. Sun/Med
