Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Slower growing, dense upright shrub or small tree with large shiny dark green leaves. Recurvifolium form has a wavy leaf margin. We love the look of this plant. Has a distinctly oriental look. Can be pruned to topiary shapes as in the photo. (Common name 'Japanese Privet' has nothing to do with the other plant called 'Privet'.) Slightly smaller leaves than the species & leaves are twisted at the tip. Drought tolerant and takes salt spray.
