Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is from a cross of Avalanche x Newton, and is in many ways an all-yellow version of Avalanche. It is a bit earlier than Avalanche (February in California), and a bit more lightly built. Being slightly shorter it should make an excellent pot plant, as it can have up to 3-4 stems per bulb. The perianth is light yellow, with a darker yellow cup, 8-15 florets per stem, of similar size and shape to Avalanche. Strong stems. Nice spicy scent. Good increaser, with fine healthy foliage and bulbs like Avalanche. Pollen fertile. Does well in wet or dry locations. IN COLDER CLIMATES, THESE LARGE BULBS ARE VERY EASILY FORCED FOR WINTER BLOOM INDOORS! Huge bulbs! Most are 2 inches or more across. Grown, freshly dug, and sorted by hand here in the good old USA.
