Daphne genkwa is a broadleaf deciduous shrub with green foliage. In spring pink and purple flowers emerge. Grows well with mostly sun - mostly shade and regular water. Does well in acidic, rich and well-drained soil.
This deciduous daphne is a sparsely branched shrub with a somewhat peculiar growth habit. It produces long, wiry, leafless growths in summer that the next spring will be covered in clusters of delicate, long-tubed, lilac-pink flowers at every node. Beautiful though not much fragrance. After flowering these branches will produce leaves for the first time. Plant in a sheltered location in sun with good drainage and rich soil. Do not move after planting.
A deciduous shrub with gray stems that will be covered with lilac flowers. The "lilac daphne" will bloom before the foliage in April. A striking plant for its early blooms.
