Vaccinium delavayii MD97 is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring cream and pink flowers emerge followed by purple fruit. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Grows well with sun - mostly shade and even moisture - regular water. Does well in acidic, clay, gritty, rich and well-drained soil.

Our collection as cuttings from the Cangshan in Yunnan of an especially small leafed form of this evergreen species. Steve Hootman of the Rhododendron Species Botanical garden now and again mutters about giving it a clonal name. Probably best in a mild garden.
