This variety was bred for fuller flowers – it worked! 28-32" stems of bigger deep orange scarlet blooms really do GLOW like burning embers in early fall (this is one of the last varieties to bloom)! Just when the hummers are starting to get hungry, the diner re-opens! Sun, well drained soil, some water. Easy. Slow expanding clump.
With brilliant blooms the color of classic cherry tomatoes, Emberglow heats up sunny borders from summer through fall. This crocosmia is hardy to zone 5 with protection (see Planting Guide).

This dazzling Alan Bloom creation is applauded for its sultry presentation of deep scarlet star-shaped blooms, which glow like embers on artfully arching stems. Flowering a little later and longer than 'Lucifer' with tidy, more compact green pleated foliage, 'Emberglow's nodding tubular flowers deliver flashy accents to Aster 'Monch' and Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer', while the decorative fruiting stalks are prized in cut arrangements.
To 3' tall with upward arching, orange-brown flowers.
This is such a prolific bloomer and the broadly tubular flowers burn with a heated intensity that might tempt you to light your cheroot on them. If anybody still smoked cheroots. (Cheroot - A word that has been nagging me to use it - now maybe I can sleep) The plants make dense clumps with midsummer flowers to 24”-30” high. Sun.
