Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Hard to find compact Pineapple Lily, this smaller species sports clumps of rippled edged leaves 10-12" wide; flowering spike in late summer is about one foot tall, with brilliant white, coconut scented flowers topped by a pineapple like cluster of leaves. This plant has an architectural presence whether in a pot or in the garden. Average garden conditions in sun to part shade; easy to grow.
Pains me to part with these on the rare times that Plant Merchant overwhelms Plant Hoarder. Diminutive Pineapple Lily that gives way more pleasure than its size might suggest. (Don't go there Kelly) Blooms lasting for weeks. Great in pots but don't freeze. Ok in ground if mulched in winter.
