Rare, easy, fast and fabulous vine will easily cover a 6' x 8' trellis in 3-4 months and then stops so it does not become a pest! Ferny dark green foliage and little tendrils for climbing…profuse waxy, golden orange tubes are produced all summer and attract hummingbirds. Rich, loamy soil and regular water, sun to light shade, great in pots too. An awesome vine, relatively undiscovered!
Tons of bloom all Summer! In 3–4 months, this elegant, tendril climbing vine will easily cover a 6’ x 8’ trellis & then stops right there without becoming a menace! Yup! You’ll be so happy over its multitudinous bloom sprays of many waxy, tubular, gold & orange flowers held on contrasty wine-red stems. Very attractive, dark green, fern-like foliage. Thrives in AM sun to bright shade, self-sows & hummers adore it! Rich loamy soil for best performance. Cut back in Winter. Combine it with my other favorite part-shade vine, blue-purple Asarina scandens ‘Joan Lorraine’ for color combo fireworks! Hardy to about 15 °F.
