Nursery contributed plant descriptions

"Chilean Gloryvine" produces showy tubular flowers in shades of red, orange and yellow - I offer a red-flowered form. A small to medium scale vine for scrambling through shrubs or fences (I planted mine in a bamboo), it will flower in its first year from seed. Hardier than usually presumed, to at least 15 °F. For best results, sow the seed directly on the soil where the plant is to be grown. DS.
A very vigorous, fast and easily grown climber, bearing upright spikes of bright red, tubular flowers in profusion, Spring thru Summer. Perennial and evergreen (around the Bay), it grows in sun or part shade, and looks stunning planted with Salvia patens. Will cover a 6' x 8' trellis in 3 to 4 months.
