A mass of true deep-red blossoms in late summer make this 2-3' grass-like perennial dramatic!!; it may spread which is OK with the hummers! S/M/GDr
Lucifer Crocosmia has clusters of vibrant, tubular red flowers on sword-like foliage. This gives a tropical feel to the garden.  Lucifer Crocosmia attracts hummingbirds. This is a bulb that multiplies yearly.
Long stems of intense tubular red flowers emerge in summer above pointed blades of mid-green foliage. Blooms June through August, attracting butterflies and hummingbirds. The flowers are followed by seeds your local birds will enjoy. Great for cut flowers.
Zn 5. Intense red flowers Ribbed sword-like leaves
This is the classic montbretia cultivar in our region's gardens. Crocosmia 'Lucifer' has tall stems with pleated, spiked, green leaves and upward-facing, bright red flowers on arching stems from mid to late summer. Easy and tough and provides lots of colour. It is a close-up of the buds of 'Lucifer' that appears on all of our signage. A hummingbird favourite.
If you've ever admired a glorious red flowering crocosmia plant in full bloom, this is probably the variety. Tough, dependable and a hummingbird favorite, Lucifer is the most popular crocosmia grown. Crocosmia Lucifer has earned the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit, so there's no doubt about it's vigor and dependability.

Dark red flowers, broad leaves
The fiery fountain of open red blooms, borne in an upright fashion along a single side of its wiry, purple-tinted stem, will burn this excellent cut flower into your heart. A valiant forest of stiffly pleated, medium green, swordlike foliage highlights the hot display. Give 'Lucifer' his due by showing off his devilishly fine color next to Campanula lactiflora 'Prichard's Variety' and counterpose his bold form with the refined delicacy of Thalictrum 'Hewitt's Double'.
A tough, cormous, evergreen perennial for light shade. Fans of tall, strappy, mid green sword-like foliage, rise from clusters of Gladioli-like corms. It bears in late summer, spikes of bright crimson, starry, lily-like flowers. This is the Crocosmia commonly seen in english gardening magazines and books. All crocosmias are wonderful plants and deserve to be more widely grown. They are particularly valued for their bright flowers that appear before the autumn flowers start and when many of the summer flowers are taking a bit of break.

4' tall with brilliant flame-red flowers June and July.
Want to add some fiery color to your mid summer garden? Devilishly colored orange red freesia like blossoms are displayed in arching sprays on sturdy 3-4' stems above sword like foliage. Corms will multiply rapidly, and are easy to lift at the end of the summer if you do not want to take the chance of them not wintering over. We've found that they are perfectly hardy in zone 6 if provided with a insulative layer of winter mulch, especially in areas where there isn't reliable snow cover.
Great name 'Lucifer'. For the fiery red flowers evoking the flames of Hell. If it had been named today, 'Lucifer' likely would have been shortened to W. and then we would have to get rid of the plant which would be too bad because the tubular flowers are manna for Hummingbirds.
Glowing red flowers heat up the garden with a torch of color on 3' tall stems.
