A very special Lilac, brightly and irregularly variegated with gold, the foliage of this distinct 8-10' lilac makes it a standout shrub all season, lovely as a specimen or as a very showy hedge. This fine cultivar is a sport of 'President Grevy', and so has the same gorgeous, deliciously fragrant pale-lavender-blue flower clusters which are wonderful in the garden or floral arrangements. S/M
A bushy deciduous shrub with fragrant double blooms of lavender blue in early summer. Cream and Gold splashed variegated leaves. Grows 5-6' in a sunny area and is hardy to -5 degrees.
Who doesn't swoon over the scent of Lilac in May? For 2 weeks in May, the fragrant panicles of lavender budded powder blue florets delight the eye and the nose, and in this form, 'Aucubaefolia', we have the bonus of yellow dappled foliage which adds interest in the garden long after the blossoms have faded. Provide at least 6 hours of sun and a slightly alkaline soil. Shrubs will grow 8-10' tall and 6-8' wide. Shipping trade gallons.
The foliage of this lilac is splashed and streaked with gold and yellow, giving a wildly variegated effect. The flowers, which are double and blue, are set off nicely by the leaves. The occasional all-green shoot should be removed at its source.
