Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Dwarf, compact lilac which blooms young and sometimes repeat blooms; flowers are lavender, in 4" long panicles; orange-red fall color. S/M
Compact, low spreading, deciduous shrub 4-5’ tall spreading to 5-7’ wide. Pale pink, deliciously fragrant flowers in terminal clusters decorate branch ends from April to May. Blooms frequently cover the plant. Easy in full sun with decently drained, moist to dry soil that is slightly acidic. Prompt removal of faded flowers before they set seed will increase following year’s bloom.
Rounded and very dense deciduous shrub, covered with a profusion of fragrant, lavender pink flowers in mid-spring. Commonly grafted to a standard and sold as a tree form. Expect the tree form to reach about 8' tall. Growth Rate medium
Few purple blossoms have so inspired people as to lend their name to a particular tint: heliotrope, lavender, violet and of course lilac. 'Palibin's profusion of delicately perfumed lavender-pink blooms bursts forth from dark purple buds. Polished leaves, deeply green and somewhat leathery, attire this small statured, close-knit twiggy shrub, whose diminutive guise can shape a handsome verdant hedge all by itself, with or without pruning, or become an alluring component for the rockery or a mixed border. Perhaps the most dwarf of all Lilacs, this refined jewel should be planted in well drained soil and cut back after flowers are spent to ensure the following year's bloom.
Slower-growing with lavender-pink flowers in dense panicles to 4" long. This dwarf form only grows 3-4' tall over many years.

From Northern China. This form can grow over a long time to 4-5' high and 5-7' wide, which is more compact than the species. It shares other good qualities such as a broad-rounded outline and excellent branch structure, plus it makes an excellent container plant.
