Nursery contributed plant descriptions

A very ornamental, deciduous species with a striking, layered branching pattern and a very slow growth habit. The foliage emerges in whorls of five leaves at the branch tips, each leaf delicately accented with red on its margin. The elegant, pure white, funnel-shaped flowers hang amongst the foliage in mid-spring. Beautiful in the woodland garden. These are grown from seed collected in the wild in Japan – a rare opportunity.
This azalea has beautiful deciduous foliage. The new growth is dark green with purple margins. In fall the 4’ shrub golden yellow fall color. Don’t bother about the flowers, they are small and our mature plant may have 10 trusses over the whole plant.
Leaves in fives. Slow growing, deciduous shrub is compact and tight, forming a finely shaped silhouette. Delicate light green leaves emerge in spring. Leaf margins are edged with red. White bell-shaped flowers.
