Cardinal-red flowers with just a hint of darker red spotting and maroon in the throat. Very dark, olive-green foliage with recurved edges looks great year-round.
The lovely, non-fading, cardinal-red flowers of this well rounded plant have just a hint of darker red freckling and maroon in the throat. The best feature of all is the dark olive green foliage. It has slightly recurved margins that are a rich contrast to the tawny leaf undersides.

This cultivar was a breakthrough in hybridizing when it was first introduced by the late Fred Peste. Through careful selection, he was able to produce a plant with bright red flowers and heavily indumented foliage. Midseason bloom. Upright habit.
