An excellent ground cover for woodland gardens with acid soils kept reasonably moist. 'Nana' is a low growing, more compact form, maybe one to 2' tall. Graceful arching stems carry leathery, lance-shaped leaves, up to 6“ long. Autumn and winter foliage becomes dark red or bronze-purple. Short racemes of white, pitcher-shaped flowers appear all along the stems in May. Native to the SE USA.
