A wonderful form of our East Coast Native. Dark shiny green mature foliage with wide-spread serrations. Scarletta is notable for its deep red new growth and bronzy-plum-purple winter hue. With sufficient sun, it's deep red burgundy in winter. Leucothoe's are suckering shrubs and great for 'loosening' up tighter shrubs like hollies -- gives a slightly less formal look to the evergreen border. Typical fragrant white flowers.
