The oakleaf Hydrangea in all of its four-season wonderfulness, but magically more compact to 4' rather than 7'; its handsome dark-green leaves turn chocolate to burgundy in fall making the perfect background for its lovely flowers which start out as white before turning pink and finally drying to a soft tan. PSh/M
This elegant 3-4' deciduous shrub has four season interest…attractive leaves resemble large, slightly fuzzy oak leaves…creamy white flower spikes top the stems in mid to late summer, suffusing with rose pink as they age…handsome coppery bark glows in winter light! Morning sun or very bright filtered shade is best; well drained organic soils with regular watering. Stays more compact with less pruning than the species.
Compact form of beloved Oakleaf family. This offering is an awesome dwarf growing to just two or three feet tall. However, this cultivar has been known to grow larger in rich and fertile soil. Compact panicles of creamy white show lots of fertile flowers and turn deep red in the fall. This cultivar is a great selection for those gardeners with small spaces to fill but still want the dramatic color of the Oakleaf hydrangea.
Oakleaf hydrangea is a slow growing shrub of great beauty and one of the few hydrangeas not native to Asia in this case hailing from the southeastern US. 'Pee Wee' is a dwarf selection of smaller stature and with smaller leaves and flower panicles. The conical white panicles produced in late spring grace the plants all summer and tinge pink as they age. Bronze, maroon and purple fall colour. Drought tolerant.
This is the smallest form that we offer, but it's not a dwarf. It has smaller flowers and red fall color than the others. Some tip damage below -30?F.
Panicles of white flowers mature to pale pink, fall burgundy-red leaves, cinnamon colored bark. Zones 5-9.
This oakleaf as all the great characteristics of the others - peeling bark in winter, panicle flowers in spring, fabulous fall color - except smaller! Use this one in the residential landscape when space is limited.

A diminutive Oakleaf Hydrangea in all respects, smaller stature to 4' x 6' with proportionally smaller foliage and flower panicles. The flowers, produced in succession from mid-summer to mid October, are typically white taking on rosy pink tones as they age. Spectacular long lasting foliage display in the fall. 1 gallon pots
A compact form, slow to medium growth habit that will reach only 2-3' in height and width. Deep green leaves and white flowers are more refined than the other varieties. The flowers are their prettiest in late May through early June. The leaves however, are spectacular in fall, with a display of colors-red, rust and purple. It should be protected in Zone 5.

Compact form with smaller leaves and flowers than the species. A candidate for the gardener with limited room growing 3' x 3'
A dwarf, of course. Grows just 3' x 3', with smaller leaves and flowers, so everything is in scale. Reddish-purple fall color. Ideal for a small garden.
