This new introduction is breathtaking! This is the only chartreuse yellow Colocasia on the market. If that was not enough to get you excited, look at the purple markings in the veins! These markings spread as the leaf matures in bright light. This makes a great pairing with the black leaved Colocasias; the colors really complement one another.
Colocasia Elena is a beautiful new plant. This plant was found as an odd mutation off of Chicago Harlequin. The foliage is a bright green to yellow. Mature plants can often have a pink center in the leaf or even veins. The petioles are white to yellow in color and it can grow to 3 to 4 feet tall. This Colocasia does great in landscape displays and contrast well with dark foliage Colocasias or dark leaf cannas. This is one of the brightest Colocasias on the market. Full Sun for brightest color, can grow in part shade. Foliage: Bright yellow to green foliage with red to pink mid veins Flowers: Yellow hooded Height: 3 to 5 feet
A chartreuse Colocasia! The leaf color is very similar to that of Xanthosoma 'Lime Zinger', but here's the catch...it much faster growing!' Elena' has a hint purple in her the veins, and this tint matures in bright light. Loves summer heat and grows to 3-4'.
