Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the best textural foliage species. Leaves like old walrus hide luggage. We were very fortunate to see this choice species on Wawu Shan in Sichuan where it was growing on the summit of this sacred isolated limestone mountain at about 9600'. Light pink to white flowers.
Young growth is clothed with greenish-white felt. Leaves to 5" long are oblong-lance-shaped, the tops shiny and wrinkled. Flowers to 1 1/2" long are bell shaped or funnel bell-shaped, white or white blushed pink, held in trusses up to 10.
White to pink flowers with crimson spotting.
