Nursery contributed plant descriptions

One of the smallest of all rhododendrons in the wild. Our plant is 2” tall and 8” across. The tiny leaves are deep green This sun lover has deep purple flat faced flowers in April. Makes a great plant among rocks as it will creep among and over the rocks.
Plants in this group are the most dwarf of the subspecies. They are well branched, with creeping stems that weave a dense low mat of green against the earth. It's quite a surprise when many bright purple, open faced flowers come dancing atop this dwarf. Formerly known as R. radicans.
