Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This is a large and vigorous, upright evergreen shrub with smooth, bright green foliage. The large and showy fragrant flowers (late spring) are white flushed pink to deep pink in mid- to late spring, providing a grand display. This is an easily grown, floriferous garden plant with heat and cold tolerance. One of the best all-around species. These are grown from seed collected in the wild.
Open to funnel-shaped, pale lavender or pale pink to white, fragrant flowers. Trusses hold 5-12 flowers each. The leaves are up to seven inches long, with a purplish petiole (leaf stem). Grows to six feet in 10 years. Blooms in mid to late spring. From China.
The deliciously fragrant flowers are often more than 4" in diameter and are a blush pink, fading to white. The enormous, scented blossoms, exquisitely modeled, form a tumbling cascade of magnificence which can scarcely be matched in the genus. In addition to its remarkable floral effect, it is exceptionally vigorous, free from pests and attractive in foliage and habit.
