Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Large, bell-shaped, orange flowers with a pink overlay show up when most other rhododendrons are well past their prime blooming time. Reports from customers in California note its ability to do well in their hotter climate.
Late in the spring when most rhododendrons are finished blooming for the year, 'Old Copper' shows its large orange trusses. I always appreciate this last flower in the season. Foliage is perky and attractive. Said to be a variety that does well in hotter climates. ('Vulcan' x 'Fabia')
