Nursery contributed plant descriptions

3'-4' plant with pink flowers. The foliage is dark green and has thick substance with a nice coating of indumentum.
Flowers open in stages so one is treated to a color display of dark to light pink flower buds and the snowy white flowers, some with light pink highlights. Dark green pointed leaves have indumentum underneath and take most cold winters in stride.
This is an absolutely superb rhododendron. The indumentum on the leaves and buds make it one of the nicest looking foliage plants you will see. You will see this even in cold climates where rhododendrons look a bit unhappy in the winter. It flowers from bright pink buds which burst open to pristine white. What a glorious sight this plant is, both in and out of flower. A first class rhododendron. (degronianum ssp. yakushimanum 'Koichiro Wada' x 'Vanessa')

By: Greer Gardens Inc.

An outstanding selection with strong purplish-pink, ruffled flowers that fade to white and deep green leaves, covered beneath with reddish-brown indumentum (an indication of its R. yakushimanum parentage). According to reports from customers, this handsome shrub is hardier than its ARS rating. It's also heat tolerant. Midseason bloom. Dome-shaped habit.
Pink blushed white flowers.
