Chandler Blueberry has one of the biggest blueberries that I know of. The fruit is large, sweet and juicy to make a great combination. They are great for baking, canning, jams, jellies or just plain ole eating 'em. The bushes are hardy down until -15F. The mid season fruit ripens in July for about 4 to 6 weeks. Blueberries need a soil PH of 4.5 - 4.8 for best crop yield. Chandler Blueberry is a northern highbush variety.
A cultivar of an eastern North American native, 'Chandler' produces perhaps the largest blueberries, nearly the size of cherries! Attractive bell-shaped, spring flowers beget delicious berries in late June. These are all season's interest shrubs with intense fall colors of red and purple, and attractive red stems through winter. Self-fertile, but cross pollination generally yields the best fruit.
'Chandler' produces the largest sized blueberries. The fruit is excellent for desserts and fresh eating and produces over the course of 6 weeks. This upright, slightly spreading deciduous shrub has green leaves that turns to wine red and orange tones in the fall. Mid to late season variety.
