Tulipa 'Saskia' is a historic Rembrandt tulip introduced in 1958 that resembles the Broken Tulips. It has soft lemon yellow flowers striped and feathered with deep lipstick red and purplish red on stems to 22 inches tall. Every flower is different. It is part of the historical group Bizarre. Large hybrid tulips can be maintained in the garden if given a sunny location with rich soil and slow release fertilizer when in growth. Hybrid tulips can persist in the garden for many years. Afterall, they rebloom each year in the fields of the Netherlands. Provide full sun where bulbs aren't shaded by other plants, fertilize with bulb food as soon as they emerge in spring, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
