Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Tulipa 'Archeron' is a historic tulip introduced in 1913. It offers rich shades of deep garnet red overlain with a touch of rust and magenta purple on stems to 24 inches high. It is part of the historical group Bizarre. Large hybrid tulips can be maintained in the garden if given a sunny location with rich soil and slow release fertilizer when in growth. Hybrid tulips can persist in the garden for many years. Afterall, they rebloom each year in the fields of the Netherlands. Provide full sun where bulbs aren't shaded by other plants, fertilize with bulb food as soon as they emerge in spring, and allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering.
