Colchicum 'The Giant' is one of the tallest, easiest to grow, and floriferous of the autumn crocus producing up to 10 lavender-pink flowers per bulb. The lush, green leaves emerge in spring into attractive mounds and go dormant in summer. The flowers aris
Cormous heirloom perennial grown since 1926 that sends up strappy foliage in spring that is dormant by summer with super-sized naked blooms in fall – one of tallest and most free flowering of the genus…overlapping lavender-checkered petals sporting white centers and purple anthers, 10-12” high in October. Thrives in sun in well-drained soil, appreciates moisture during growth and bloom periods, fine with dry during summer dormancy. Deer/critter resistant. All parts are toxic.
One of the fall croci, these rank with cyclamen as must-haves for the autumn garden. Anywhere from late August into November, from bare earth come 4-6" crocus flowers of pink with a pale lilac throats. In late fall, though much later in colder climates, the coarse textured leaves appear growing vigorously until mid spring. A fairly quick multiplier, they are great under shrubs or in any neglected area of the garden in dappled shade to full sun. Frost hardy in USDA zone 5.
