Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Colchicum x agrippinum is an easy-to-grow autumn crocus producing multiple flowers per bulb that are checkered with pink and white. The lush, green leaves emerge in spring into attractive mounds and go dormant in summer. The flowers arise without leaves in late summer or fall. C. x agrippinum is likely a hybrid garden origin between C. variegatum and C. autumnale. Grow in fertile, well-drained soil.

Rarely offered bulbous treasure, fall blooming, one of the most heavily checkered Autumn Crocus in violet-rose hues. Hybrid of C. autumnale and C. variegatum forming a nice little patch 3-4” tall. Non-flop small blue-green leaves emerge early spring and are dormant before summer. Naked flowers emerge early fall. Sun, decent soil, occasional summer water (but takes more with good soil drainage).
