Nursery contributed plant descriptions

?One of the most attractive species? (Bean), this 6' shrub has lacy, finely-divided foliage as well as fragrant lilac flowers in spring. S/M
Few purple blossoms have so inspired people to lend their name to a particular tint: heliotrope, lavender, violet, and of course, lilac. Distinguished by its uniquely shaped dark green leaves, this elegant Chinese native fashions a graceful mound of lacy, deeply cut foliage and 3 in. long, loose panicles of fragrant, single, pale lavender flowers. Very heat tolerant, the Cut Leaf Lilac is perfect for hot summer areas and makes an excellent textural companion when teamed with broader leafed shrubs.
Fragrant, lavender flowers, lacy, finely-divided foliage. Deer resistant, prune after bloom. Zones 4-8.
If you saw this plant without its flowers, you'd never guess it was a lilac. The leaves are deeply lobed, somewhat like those of a marigold, so they give the plant a light and airy appearance. The fragrant lavender flowers, which appear in 3'' heads in midspring, are unmistakably lilac. The cutleaf lilac shows excellent heat tolerance and blooms well in partial shade. Rounded, suckering habit.
The lace leaf lilac has small leaves that are deeply cut. This easy growing pretty plant is very adaptable. The flowers are light lavender and are an added bonus to the pretty foliage.
