Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Perennial evergreen rosette that makes a great specimen plant for the dry garden. Slowly grows to 4' x 4'
From several places in northeastern Mexico, this collection, from mountain ranges north of Potosi at nearly 7000' in oak, pine, and yes...douglas fir, forms colonies of 4' rosettes tinted a lovely blue-gray and showing the leaf scars to beautiful effect as each new leaf emerges. The leaf margins are undulating and decorated with dark spines. So far these have proven frost hardy to the low teens °F, low to mid USDA zone 8, and are quite happy with abundant garden moisture so good drainage and air circulation in the winter is helpful. Fine pot specimen. Form: [YD 129]
