An easy houseplant or annual for shady beds or containers outdoors. Gold leaves with attractive purple midribs and stems covered in purple hairs are topped with pale sky blue tubular flowers in late summer. Excellent filler under taller houseplants or brightening a shady spot in the garden. Quickly spreading to form a solid mound of foliage 10" tall and spreading to about 2 feet. Moist well drained soil in part shade to shade, avoid hot afternoon sun. Take cuttings to overwinter. USDA zone 9, protect from frost.
