Nursery contributed plant descriptions

Rare, EASY & exciting! Electric blue blooms in Winter smother this fast & easy groundcover from the highlands of Ethiopia. Grown best in sun to part sun (around the Bay), the showy, deep, electric blue blooms are 4” - 6” tall & are held above the dense, compact, soft & fuzzy foliage from October through February. Coleus lanuginosa is certainly drought tolerant, though will look better in the Summer with some water. It does best in rich, well-drained soil & will grow from 10” to 18” tall (depending on watering), will spread to 3’ square & is excellent for smothering out the weeds. Fab in a hanging basket, too! Cut back after bloom is finished for a fresh, new look. Hardy to 25 °F.
