Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This exquisitely beautiful azalea has 3" saucer-shaped fragrant pink flowers in late spring just as the leaves emerge, a rounded 4-6' (larger in the wild) shrub displaying pretty reddish new leaves and bright yellow-orange-red fall color. PSh/M
A true connoisseur's plant deserving of its common name in all respects, this species offers handsome ornamental features throughout the seasons. Fragrant speckled pink flowers emerge in May before the lime-green leaves. Leaves obovate in outline, unlike others in this extraordinary genus. Fall color in rich hues of yellow, red and orange. Slow growth to a medium size (6-7 ft.) so its winter form is tidy and compact. Extraordinarily hardy, but not well suited to the summer heat of the South.
Selected white form of the royal azalea, vigorous grower, orange-red fall color.
Blooms: spring, wide, funnel shaped pink flowers / deciduous, red autumn color Zone 6-9. 3'-10', Japan, Korea, Russia, shade, moist, well drained

Frost hardy in USDA zone 4.
Star-like, soft pink flowers, deciduous, lvs. turning red.
The Royal azalea is a deciduous shrub with lovely light green leaves that are distinctly oval. In fall the leaves turn pretty yellow before falling. The flowers are the softest light pink and look like they float on the plant like early butterflies. Needs some afternoon shade to thrive.
