Nursery contributed plant descriptions

This particularly dark colored seedling, also among the most vigorous, producing 3' clumps in as many years, also a large number of flowers to about 18" to 2' in height. Deciduous, the leaves emerge in early spring, flowers emerging in spring through early summer. It took a while to dawn on us that this plant, counter to our intuition, likes bright sun along with rich soil and consistent water. Definitely worth the effort. USDA Zone 5.
