Agave horrida is an evergreen cactus / succulent with blue and green foliage. In fall and summer yellow flowers emerge. Grows well with sun - mostly sun and occasional - low water. Drought tolerant once established. Prefers to be dry in winter. Does well in gritty, lean, rocky and well-drained soil. A good option if you're seeking something heat tolerant and verticillium wilt resistant.

One of the smaller Agaves growing from 1-2' high and wide, this gem is native to Mexico . Leaves are smooth and dark green armed on the edges with formidable teeth. Being a smaller Agave, it can be a great potted specimen also then being transportable to safer spots in a cold winter regions. Little water is needed and good drainage is important. In Mexico, it is used to produce Mescal. Mexcalmetl is hardy in USDA Zone 9-10.
