Rhododendron concinnum is a broadleaf evergreen shrub with green foliage. In spring purple flowers emerge. Features fuzzy texture. Attracts bees making it an excellent addition to pollinator gardens. Elliptic leaves, to 3 ½" long, are dark bluish green, scaly on both sides. Widely funnel-shaped flowers, to 1 ½" long, range in color from white through all shades of purple to a beautiful wine red, occasionally spotted brownish or crimson, appearing in clusters of 3-6. Growth habit is treelike. (RN, rn, Triflora)

Wine purple flowers.
Has vibrant glowing purple flowers in April-May. The 2" flowers occur on a small truss. The foliage is green with some purple highlighting as they leaf out.
