Oxalis spiralis subsp. vulcanicola 'Sunset Velvet' is a non-invasive volcanic sorrel serving as a fabulous ground cover with trifoliate, shamrock-like leaves in stunning sunset hues of gold, orange, pink and coppery-yellow that fade to lime green in summer then deep magenta in autumn. Deep yellow flowers are held on coral stems just above the foliage in spring and summer on plants 10 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Use as a striking deciduous ground cover for spilling over retaining walls, containers, in the rock garden and as a house plant.
Oxalis spiralis vulcanicola 'Sunset Velvet' is a non-invasive Oxalis featuring stunning gold, orange, pink and coppery-yellow shamrock leaves that fade to lime green in summer. Exhibits brilliant yellow flowers on bright, coral stems. Volcanic Sorrel prefers moist, well-drained soil and moderate water. Apply a liquid fertilizer monthly during the growing season. Striking as a deciduous groundcover, cascading over low walls, and as a facing plant.
