Eucomis 'Safari Adventure' is a pineapple lily that provides an awesome tropical-look for a zone 6 garden or up! Olive-green strap-shaped foliage pops up in spring with burgundy tones followed by flower spikes in late summer, first in cream tones then aging to deep rosy-purple. The flowers on the inflorescence look like a pineapple with a tuft of bracts at the top. Clump-forming in size growing to 2-4 feet tall with a spread of 3.5-4 feet. Very easy to grow in free-draining soils and in containers. Full sun for best results. Use as a focal point and as a cut flower. Mulch in winter with fallen leaves or protect in a frost free location in colder zones. Pollinator attractor.

Strappy, wide, succulent, tropical-esque leaves rise above ground in early summer in shades of olive clumping out to 3-4’ wide; 2.5-3’ tall hulky stems of fat cream flowers appear in late summer, aging to stunning rosy purple! We find full sun best, average soil and water, no fuss drama queen!

Late summer brings on multiple, large, showy spikes of small cream to rosy purple star flowers. Pineapple Lily grows best in rich, well-drained soil. Plant in cottage or meadow gardens, or in containers. Loved also for their long lasting cut flowers. Bulbs can be lifted and saved for next year.
